It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of John R. Lohmann, 75, long-time member and past President of Travelers Protective Association of America (TPA). John passed away at 5:48 PM Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
John had been a member of TPA for over 50 years. He saw the value of the organization and truly believed in its benevolent mission, volunteering his time and energy in countless ways. John served on the Board of Directors from 2006 until 2010, then went on to serve as National Vice President (2010-2011) and National President (2011-2012). His work for the association serves as a fine example of dedication, diligence, and loyalty.
Outside of TPA, John had a long career in architectural and engineering services, retiring as a Senior Contract Administrator in 2008. He also enjoyed golf, racquetball, do-it-yourself projects, skiing, and of course, travelling.
Our hearts go out to his family. For our part, we plan on continuing with the mission of TPA in the manner that John showed us, with dedication and pride—and a big heart.
