For many of us, we take food for granted. When we are hungry, we simply open the refrigerator and eat. However, others may not be as fortunate, especially during a global pandemic when millions of people have lost their jobs. So, on Halloween day members of Post SC of the Missouri Division decided to act. The post purchased approximately $1,000 of food and personal care products. Volunteers filled more than 60 grocery bags with food, Halloween treats, personal care items, coloring books, crayons, and information packets. Cars lined up at 8:15 a.m., 45 minutes prior to the start of the event. At 10:31 a.m. we distributed our 64th and last bag of goods. The volunteers remained safe while practicing social distancing and wore face coverings during the drive-by event. Post SC thanks its members for their time and generosity, and Christian Wargo of the St. Louis Arts Chamber of Commerce who graciously donated money, face coverings, coloring books, crayons, and literature to support the event.
