The Travelers Protective Association’s (TPA) charitable arm, the Scholarship Trust for the Hearing Impaired, sponsored a table at the Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) at their 15th annual trivia night fundraiser. CID is a school where children with hearing difficulties learn to listen, talk, read and succeed. On Saturday night, January 21, 550 guests, 60 volunteers and dozens of donors helped the CID raise more than $20,500. Representing the Scholarship Trust at the event were Albert M. Shoemaker, Jr., TPA chief administrative officer, Douglas Johnson, trust treasurer, and Ashley Whitrock, trust administrative assistant. During the annual convention the Scholarship Trust board of trustees will have the opportunity to visit the CID on Tuesday, June 27 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
A thank you note was received from CID:
“It was very nice meeting you at CID’s Trivia Night. I hope you enjoyed the evening. We appreciate your sponsorship of this event. I look forward to having you for a tour this summer! It will be here before you know it.
-Melany Nitzsche”
